Plinkings and Plunkings from the sound bow of the WoW Player Bell Curve

“But, Auntie Chablis; you are NOT old.  You play Halo, and WoW and you RAID!”

So I call myself a half century girl these days.  My nephew got me started with Halo, I found I loved RPGs, and hubby and I converted a family room into a game room.  Live was bliss.

Then, along comes a drunk driver, crosses the interstate at a high rate of speed and hits me head on.  4 months later hubby wheels me into the game room and places a child sized controller in my newly uncasted hands.  Video games were a huge part of my recovery, and a great motivation; as well as distractor during months of passive stretching exercises.

Fast forward to surgery #3 on my dominant hand.  Two months of not using my right hand at all.  Hubby introduces me to WoW, World of Warcraft.  He set me up on his handme down too slow to raid with laptop and a trial account.  A few days later he runs out to buy an account code for me, and the Burning Crusade add on.

Live is bliss.

Fast forward.  I’ve been raiding for almost a year now, and I’ve acquired my own raid capable laptop.  Wrath of the Lich King is out, and the WoWsphere anxiously awaits Ulduar.  It seems a good time to start writing a few thoughts about raiding, from the view on my side of the bell curve.
